Civil lawsuits are expensive, time-consuming and risky when your results are in the hands of a jury. Although good trial lawyers know how to effectively present their case to a jury, they also know there is no guarantee that the jury's decision will go their way. Mediation is the ultimate tool to mitigate that risk.
Presiding Judge · Certified Mediator · Certified Guardian Ad Litem
Lacy Britten's career reflects the qualities that define both great judges and great mediators: impartiality, clarity, and disciplined analysis.
With extensive experience on the bench, she has spent years evaluating competing arguments, managing a variety of proceedings, and ensuring that every voice is heard within a structured, respectful process.
Lacy has served as Presiding Judge in two municipal courts for 27 years. In this role, she draws on exceptional skills in communication, organization, and decision-making — developing systems that streamline case flow and promote clarity.
Her professional background also includes more than a decade in private practice, where she represented clients in complex and sensitive matters and served as a guardian ad litem. Lacy spent years as a chief felony prosecutor handling cases at both the trial and appellate levels — including capital murder.
Lacy earned her JD from Baylor Law School and her BBA, cum laude, from Baylor University.

Known for her calm demeanor, patience, and meticulous attention to detail, Lacy creates an environment where parties can engage constructively. She brings the same neutrality, patience, and respect for the process that define her work on the bench to every mediation session.
